Speaking
“Turning her PAIN into PURPOSE.”
Those were the words a person recently said about Jami Sullins, and there is nothing but truth in that statement.
Jami is no stranger to a stage, a microphone, or a public speaking platform. She commands the attention of any crowd with her confidence, humor, and candor. While her most recent battle with breast cancer has opened up a world of information to share, Jami was doing public speaking even before that.
Since 2011, Jami has been speaking to other small business owners about what it takes to succeed. She has been on countless stages teaching about marketing, generating leads, creating business systems, and other topics specific to growing a small business focusing on sales and recruitment. During this time, she has spoken to a crowd of 10,000 people at one time and has shared the stage with several amazing people, John Maxwell, Robert Kiyosaki, and Eric Trump just to name a few.
But in 2024, Jami’s life took a major turn with a breast cancer diagnosis. She suffered through 16 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by 8 more rounds of immunotherapy, a double breast amputation (otherwise known as a mastectomy), and countless surgeries for reconstruction. But the word “suffer” doesn’t seem right because she battled with such grace and joy. If the bald head wouldn’t have given it away, most would not have had any idea that she was fighting cancer.
It was during this time that a FIRE was lit in Jami for two different things: starting a business and non-profit offering comfortable and stylish beanies for anyone dealing with hair loss, but specifically for those with hair loss from chemotherapy treatments, and sharing the many messages that she has learned through the past year. These are just a few of the topics she loves sharing:
When Going Through Hell, Just Keep Going
Being pumped full of poison and having body parts amputated can definitely be considered “going through hell.” Jami did all of that and continued to run her small business effectively. During the time she was fighting cancer, she earned Annual Sales with her business and experienced a 9.5% growth in her personal sales while the rest of the sales force was declining in sales. She learned to focus on income producing activities and let go of activities that once felt necessary but didn’t bring benefit to her business. She loves to use her experience to encourage others to prepare for the worst case scenario and to find a way to get through tough times.
Joy in the Storm
Cancer can definitely be a storm! But Jami learned to navigate that storm by relying on Jesus Christ. While she has been a Christian her whole life, her relationship with her Heavenly Father grew very close during her time battling cancer. Jami wants to encourage you to get close to Him and know that He will never leave your side.
You Must Advocate For Yourself Because Nobody Else Will
Jami learned that the American healthcare system is not the faint of heart. This system is broken to say the least. Since her diagnosis in March of 2024, Jami has learned to not only research for herself, but to demand what she wants for her health and body to be the best it can be.
You wouldn’t believe the statements Jami has heard from those in the medical field! One doctor’s office told her “We don’t take charity cases,” when they found out she used alternative medical insurance instead of one of the well-known for profit insurance companies. Then a medical oncologist told her, “Don’t waste your money on naturopathic doctors.” It was then that she knew it was time to fire him and find another doctor, which is no easy task once treatment is already started. Another struggle has been demanding to be seen in person instead of just sending in photos through the digital system when complications arose after surgeries. Just recently, she has been battling her insurance company to approve payment on medication that her doctor prescribed because the insurance doesn’t see it as necessary.
Jami wants to encourage you to stand up for yourself and what you know is best for you and your body!
Day to Day Changes That Will Benefit Your Health
When Jami received her diagnosis, she made several drastic changes to her nutrition and toxic-load. As so many of us are, Jami was oblivious to how toxic her lifestyle was to her health. She didn’t live recklessly and looked really healthy overall. However, when she received the breast cancer diagnosis, she went into a deep dive of what may have caused it since it was not genetically derived. That is when she learned about so many things about nutrition and the average American diet that could have led to the cancer growing in her body. She also learned about how awful the majority of American cosmetics and skincare products are for our bodies. The last area she learned about was the toxicity of cleaning chemicals.
These are just a few of the topics that Jami is passionate about and would love to share with your group. Feel free to reach out to her if you have a specific topic in mind for your group.
Jami would love to speak to your church, your community, or your business!
